Biesse SELCO SK4 is a high-tech, compact numerically controlled (CNC) nesting center.
The rigid upper guides of the machine carriage, located at the saw spindle, eliminate vibrations and guarantee effective balancing of the tool carriage, which ensures high-precision tool movement during nesting. Also integrated into the structure of the saw carriage is a side leveller that ensures high-precision positioning of the workpiece.
Raising and lowering of the main and scoring saws on the machine is independent of each other, and the outreach of the main saw blade is automatically adjusted depending on the thickness of the loaded pile. This reduces the cycle time significantly and preserves the quality of the cut.
The large clamping area applies even pressure on the workpieces, and the independent automatic levelling clamps hold the panels firmly in place, greatly increasing the accuracy of the cuts being made.
The Quick change system allows you to change saws quickly and safely without using additional tools, and the Digiset device allows you to make precise adjustments to the scoring saw.
The machine frame is a rigid structure on solid slides that guarantee maximum stability. The carriage slide guides ensure high-precision parallelism, linearity and optimal balancing of the tool carriage.
Completely vibration-free thanks to the upper guide, positioned right next to the saw spindle.
Strictly linear movement of the tool holder is achieved by means of a spiral toothed rack and pinion, driven by a brushless servomotor.
Optimal cutting quality is achieved by independent up and down movements of the main and scoring saws.
The basic saw’s reach is automatically adjusted by the numerical control according to the thickness of the pile to be cut, that gives the best cutting quality in all working conditions. On the SK 450 the automatic saw blade reach has two levels.

The clamp has a single element structure that allows the development of a uniform and controlled pressure on the pile of panels to be cut. The opening is optimized automatically according to the thickness of the panel pile in order to obtain the maximum quality of processing and to reduce cycle times.
Accurate and fast positioning of the panels for maximum cutting precision thanks to the pusher carriage driven by a brushless motor. The sliding plane under the pusher is equipped with non-driven independent rollers to avoid scratching delicate panels.
The clamps, independent and self-aligning, ensure reliable fixation of the panels and allow complete pushing of the cutted stacks behind the cutting line.
Precise levelling of thin and flexible panels with a minimum cycle time thanks to the side levelling stop integrated in the saw carriage.
The “Quick change” system, (Biesse patent) is the fastest, most ergonomic and safe device for tool-free saw changes.
Quick and precise tool setting thanks to the electronic adjustment of the scoring saw by means of the Digiset device. The system provides for memory and subsequent recalling of saw set alignment positions.
Reduced panel loading and unloading times. Special panel loading solutions are also available upon request
The lift table, compact and integrated in the machine structure, allows to load stacks of panels up to 630 mm directly on the steel profiles. The lift table can also be installed at a later moment, some time after commissioning.
The clamps automatically select the necessary number of panels based on the machining pattern, increasing the efficiency and safety of the machine without increasing the space requirement.
The hydraulic table for unloading the cut material onto the pallet, has a manually adjustable tipping stop to make pallet removal more convenient.
Two cutting centers in one
The Twin Pusher, an exclusive patent for all Biesse cutting centers, consists of two complementary pushers. The additional pusher allows independent cutting of strips up to a width of 650 mm.

The Twin Pusher system is an auxiliary pusher equipped with a single clamp with lateral positioning controlled by the CNC. It allows simultaneous cutting, which leads to a significant reduction of cycle times.
Easy to use and optimized processing
The OSI (Open Selco Interface) provides fully automatic control of the nesting patterns and optimizes the movements of the axes (pusher carriage, saws and side leveller). It guarantees the correct value of the outreach of the saw over the pile to be cut and calculates the best cutting speed depending on the height of the pile and the width of the cut, so that the best cut quality is always obtained.

Technological solutions for all production requirements
System for the automatic use of grooving, the width of which can be programmed by the CNC. The grooving depth can be adjusted manually from outside the machine body and during saw movement.
Maximum quality of the finished product thanks to the bed worktable with air cushion for moving delicate materials. This feature also makes it possible to keep the surface of the working table always clean in the immediate vicinity of the saw’s path.
PFS function for cutting of soft and postforming panels. A special program of the CNC allows to perform high quality cutting both at the entry point and exit, preventing from splintering on the fragile and delicate material (patented).
Automatic device for making oblique cuts.
Clamps with special stops for cutting of stop panels covered with overhang material.
Software for cutting windows from panels. Diagrams can be written into the CNC memory.
